To start using Windows 10 again, you can wake it up by pressing the Power button.Īlthough Sleep Mode lets you save power and reduce hardware resource consumption, sometime you may find it annoying, especially when using Windows 10 at home, where you leave your PC unattended quite often, and come back only to see that it went to sleep for good. In layman’s language, Sleep Mode puts your computer in semi-shutdown state. Initiated either automatically or manually, Sleep Mode saves the current state of your Windows in the RAM, thus consuming only power only required to keep the critical hardware resources like RAM and HDD active. By default, Windows 10 automatically goes to sleep when it is left unattended for 15 minutes and 30 minutes when on battery and when connected to the power supply respectively.
